Celebrating Core'dinations - Caardvarks

This card was designed for Caardvarks challenge to create a new monochromatic card using Core'dinations Cardstock. The prize................"a 3 month guest designer spot on the design team, and receive a generous variety of Core'dinations cardstock to work with." :D

This card measures approximately 5.5(w) x4(h) and is made with several shades of Core'dinations cardstock that have been machine stitched with coordinating thread and inked with Tim Holtz paper stain (chocolate). The embossed rubberstamped doily compliments of Hero Arts and embossing power by Stampendous in Blush Pink has been handcut and adhered to the card. The lower portion of the card has a scalloped border that have been inked and machine stitched with a zigzag stitch. Shabby vintage seam binding bow has been added along with paper flowers from Prima that once again have been inked. I've seen sooo many butterflies out there....I wanted to do something different so....how about a Hummingbird? This rubberstamped image is from Inkadinkado and the ink is from Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush) as well is the sentiment. I then added a litte glitter and a super small black pearl adhesive.

Well, that's my card in a nutshell. Have a wonderful weekend! Cathy xx :)

This card was created for The Play Date Cafe challenge #25. Our mission this week was to create something based off of the colors black, white and a splash of orange. Happy Mother's Day - PDCC #24

It finally has happened - the rain and clouds have disappeared and we have a bright sunny day. A little chilly, but I have hopes that warmer weather is on the way. :)

This card was created for The Play Date Cafe #24 where we were given a beautiful range of colors (plum, lavendar and cream) to work with. I rummaged thru my scraps and came up with these papers of which I have no idea who they belong to. Decorative pins from Maya Road, paper flower from Prima, twine and rubberstamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink, chipboard letter that has been painted and glittered, crocheted trim, shabby vintage seam binding ribbon all have been added.

Off to post my card and get to work on my next challenge! Cathy :)

You're Invited - Embellish Parties Color Challenge

Yippee it's Friday! It's sunny!! It's warming up and I have off today!!! :D A whole day that I have to create is always a great day!

This card was created for Embellish Magazine/Parties Color Challenge where the colors red, black, white and kraft were to be used in creating a party themed project. Looking thru my materials, I found this wonderful teapot image and sentiment from Papertrey Ink that I haven't used in quite sometime, and the sentiment seem to work well with this week's theme. That was my starting point. I then came upon a rubberstamp that I had forgotten about and have yet to use (I'm sure you have a few of those) that was a lace pattern. I decided to use this on the Kraft paper tag using vintage cream ink from Papertrey Ink. Papers used are from Jenni Bowlin, paper flower from Prima, decorative pin from Maya Road, vintage trim from an antique shop in Southern Illinois when we were on our honeymoon, twine from Papertrey Ink and shabby silk binding ribbon.

Thank you all once again in advance for stopping by and taking the time to comment on my card - it is greatly appreciated! :) Off to post my card and on to my next challenge. Enjoy your day and keep creating - Cathy xx :)

Mother ~ The Shabby Tea Room #4

This week's challenge at TSTR we were given a lovely photo for inspiration and told to "Embrace the White" using white or cream and one other subtle color. I decided to go with cream/white and Kraft cardstock. I hope this is considered subtle. :)

This card was created using paper from Basic Grey, Kraft cardstock, twine, ink and rubberstamp (sentiment) from Papertrey Ink, chipboard embellishment from Tattered Angels, glitter from Martha Stewart, paper flowers from Prima, paper doiley, vintage lace and pearl adhesives and large rubberstamp (leaf pattern) in which I stamped out a leaf pattern on the cardstock.

It was just another "Manic-Monday" today at the office and this challenge was exactly what I needed to wind down my day. I hope you had a great day - off to post my card! Cathy xx :)
